Also, what do you think of this blogger's argument that Dave Norris may actually have received more single-shot votes than Rob Schilling? Does his math hold up?

http://lucretius79.blogspot.com/2006/05/chicken-punditry.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9666124.post-1146704519610099002006-05-03T21:01:00.000-04:002006-05-03T21:01:00.000-04:00"I ran for the Senate at a very young age, and one..."I ran for the Senate at a very young age, and one of the issues used by the opponents was that I had never worked a day in my life. One day I was going through one of the factories in my state to meet the workers. And I will never forget the fellow who came up to me, shook my hand, and said: 'Mr. Kennedy, I understand that you have never worked a day in your life. Let me tell you, you haven't missed a thing.'" -Ted Kennedy.Kentonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08882752479799446034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9666124.post-1146671147609924532006-05-03T11:45:00.000-04:002006-05-03T11:45:00.000-04:00I wouldn't be so quick to call Gene Fifer's commen...I wouldn't be so quick to call Gene Fifer's comments insulting to all of the hardworking teachers, musicians, etc. The quote was that Mr. Schilling "has never had to work a day in his life." He didn't say that he never worked; he said that he never "had to work".

There's a difference. There are many wealthy individuals who work, but don't have to work. I have no idea as to the wealth of Mr. Schilling and don't know whether or not he "has to work". Nor, do I suggest that there's any more or less moral value in working, even if you don't need the money. But, I think we can do without the proclamation of insult to hard-working people. Gene Fifer knows about hard work.

Harry LandersAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
