In an article on MSNBC's web site wrapping up the Democratic statewide primary for governor and lieutenant governor, NBC White House correspondent Chuck Todd said:

BTW, the Virginia State Board of Elections handles returns better than any state in the union. It's fantastic and fast.

Believe me, a statement like that -- especially one that is unsolicited -- is appreciated by the entire elections community in Virginia: Electoral Boards, General Registrars and their staffs, election officials, technicians, and the State Board of Elections and its staff.

Thanks to Chuck Todd for the recognition. After working a 16-hour day on Tuesday and finishing up the canvass on Wednesday, seeing that comment brought a smile to my face.
